The FedEx Colebrook Business Centre is composed of a 60,000 sq. ft. FedEx sorting facility and 40,000 sq. ft. of retail/commercial space occupied by a woodworking firm. The architectural solution focused on breaking up the large horizontal massing. In response to the Client’s pro-forma, economical building practices were incorporated directly into the building design, methodology, and detailing. Common and inexpensive industrial materials such as steel bent channels and corrugated steel panels were used for the canopies, sign bands, and suspended steel walkways.
